Can I work while studying with TEMC?
Yes. TEMC is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) under the International Student Program (ISP) approved by the Government of Canada. International students enrolled in our Canadian Nursing Review Program for IENs are eligible to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during studies, and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks, without a work permit.

Can I bring by partner / spouse / children with me?
In the past, students have been able to bring their families. However, it should be noted that not all IENs are automatically eligible to do so. In some circumstances, it may be recommended for IENs to come to Canada on their own and bring their families permanently when the time is right. We recommend IENs to consult with a licensed immigration consultant.

Where is TEMC Located?
TEMC's campus is located in North York, Ontario. A vibrant and diverse community suburb of Toronto with a wide range of cultural and recreational activities, as well as easy access to transportation, healthcare, and offers a high quality of life for its residents. The area is known for its beautiful parks and diverse neighbourhoods that offer something for everyone.

What happens if my visa gets refused?
This review program visas for IEEs typically have a significantly high approval rate. Nevertheless, in the event that a visa is denied, we urge all applicants to carefully review the Refusal Letter to identify the grounds for rejection and consider reapplying. It's not uncommon for students to attain visa approval on their second attempt.

What is the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)?
The Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) association provides a streamlined assessment service for IENs interested in applying to be a registered nurse in Canada. The purpose of the PEO application process is to evaluate and authenticate your engineering qualifications, work experience and professional licenses. Visit https://peo.on.ca for more detail.

What is the NPPE exam?

The National Professional Practice Examination (NPPE) is a 2.5 hour, closed-book, on-line exam on ethics, professional practice, engineering law and professional liability. Eligible applicants may write the NPPE at any time (within the time frame provided by PEO) as they acquire 48 months of engineering work experience required for licensure. To reduce the time to licensure, applicants are encouraged to write the NPPE early in the time frame provided by PEO.

What happens if I fail the NPPE exam?
There is no limit to the number of times you can write the Registration until you pass. You can take the exam once in any 45-day period (up to a maximum of 8 times per year).

Is this program a diploma or certificate course?
The National Professional Practice Exam - Ontario for IEEs is a Professional Development and Up-skilling program designed for IEEs with existing qualifications and work experience to maintain their nursing profession and become eligible to work as a licensed engineer in Ontario. The program is not subject to the provisions of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

Will I get a refund if my visa gets rejected?
Yes. If your visa is rejected and you decide not to pursue a resubmission, you will receive a refund of your tuition and fees. The amount refunded is determined based on the Tuition Refund Policy outlined in our student handbook.

Is your college approved for PGWP?
Although the TEMC is not designated for the PGWP program, international students who complete the nursing review course and become registered nurses in Canada may be eligible to stay and work in Canada under other work permit programs, such as the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, the International Mobility Program, or a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). These programs allow international students who have graduated from non-designated institutions to apply for a work permit and gain valuable Canadian work experience. Students should research and understand the eligibility criteria for various work permit programs and consult with a qualified immigration lawyer or consultant to determine their eligibility and ensure that they follow the correct application process.
